"Arie got the first date and they spent the day strolling around old town Prague. One of the things I enjoyed the most was wandering the streets and eating food from the many street vendors, but hot wine was not high on the list for me. I want to talk a little bit about the Arie situation and his relationship with our producer Cassie. I feel like we handled this situation well. Was the story big enough that it needed to be touched on? Yes. But was it a huge scandal? No. So I think we did a good job of showing you the truth about what happened and how it absolutely didn’t affect Emily and Arie’s relationship whatsoever. Later that night during the date, Arie was the first man to tell Emily he’s in love with her and by the look on her face, she was happy to hear it. The fireworks display over the Charles Bridge was one of the most incredible backdrops we’ve used to light up the sky around the world. Fireworks — they’ve kind of become a tradition for us."

"Before we started filming I had been told that there may be one contestant on the show this season who had dated Cassie, and I was asked if I would mind. Once I knew it was almost a decade ago, and knowing that Cassie is engaged to another one of my favorite producers, Pete, I was fine with it. I put it way out of my head as I was gearing up to meet the men, so when Cassie took it upon herself halfway through the season to tell me who the guy was, I was definitely surprised. We had all been together so many times and it was never mentioned that they had ever met before and that's where my feelings of mistrust came in. If you knew Cassie the way I do, you would know what a great person she is, and that I'd be lucky to have a chance with one of her exes! Although I wish I would have known the specifics earlier, I understand the show didn't want to color my opinion of him. But I was concerned that Arie hadn't told me."

What else might he be hiding? A disturbed Emily tries to get to the heart of the matter at lunch, but Arie avoids the obvious clues she throws out to entice him to discuss the unusual situation.

John gets a 1-on-1 date 

Emily joins John at the famous Lennon wall, which displays an ever-changing presentation of John Lennon-inspired graffiti, serving as symbol of peace and love. The two enjoy adding their personal touches to the iconic wall, but Emily is concerned that John seems unable to open up to her emotionally. At last, John explains to her the reason for his tough demeanor.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I don't think so. I haven't watched previous seasons and as far as from my experience, I was ready to be in that role. I have dated a woman that had two children before so I know that it's a tough situation but I was definitely prepared for it.  I just don't know if everyone else in the house was.  

 

The other guys in the house seem to think you are the funny, goofball guy. Is this accurate of your true personality? 

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Totally. I think you see some of that, you're starting to see more of that on the show but I like to have a good time.  I was friends with everybody in the house.

The men had better be paying attention because afterwards, mimicking the movie, they will be asked to dress in kilts and compete in their own Highland Games. The bachelors fire arrows, throw logs and test each other's strength. Although one bachelor dominates the competition, another wins over Emily with his persistence in the face of defeat. The after party finds one handsome man taking Emily on an intimate walk and talk in the streets of Dubrovnik, while another brave suitor offers the Bachelorette his heart.

"For so long, Kalon had been so condescending to me and everyone else in the house, but I know what it's like to be misunderstood and I didn't want to be one of those people that wrote him off before really making an effort to get to know him....I still to this day haven't received an apology of any sort, and that to me is the most telling of all. Tonight on The Bachelorette!

Bachelorette Emily Maynard and her men go to London!
Explosive drama underlines the group's trip to historic London. From Buckingham Palace to the Tower of London, Emily and Sean share the romance of the city. Shakespearian theatre will never be the same once eight men on a group date invade the Bard's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, to perform classic scenes from "Romeo and Juliet." However, the after party turns from going to a pub for a brew to a brawl when Emily discovers that one of the men has made a disrespectful comment about her daughter, Ricki. Not only does Emily confront the offender, but she finds none of the other men support her and ends up making some stunning decisions. Jef and Emily have a proper English tea, but decide to ditch their stern etiquette teacher and escape to a local pub. Trying to put the drama about her daughter aside, she takes Jef to one of the most romantic spots in the city - the London Eye, a gigantic Ferris wheel on the banks of the Thames River.

For her first one-on-one date of the week, Emily and Sean jump onto one of the iconic double-decker buses to tour the city. John and Nate’s Dramatic Two-on-One Date: One stays and one goes goes....


Bermuda 1-on-1 with Doug 

Once the men arrive at the Rosewood Tucker’s Point Hotel and Spa, a jubilant Doug discovers that he will spend the day alone with Emily. As he waits for Emily to pick him up, a few of the guys decide to “push his buttons,” and Doug loses his cool. The couple spend the day discovering the magic of St. George, shopping for souvenirs, creating their own scent at a perfumeria and having a blast watching some local dancers.

       

Bermuda Group Date: 

The next day Emily treats eight men to a special day on the water at the Bermuda Yacht Club, where they learn proper sailing techniques. It’s a breeze until they discover that they need to compete in races against one another. The stakes are ratcheted up as the winning team will be rewarded with more time with Emily while the losing team goes back to the hotel. It’s an all out battle, but one team is left to celebrate with Emily on the dock while the other team sulks as they leave. The after party is full of surprises, as one handsome bachelor tries to impress the Bachelorette by referring to her as a possible “trophy wife,” but it is actually another smooth-talking man who charms her and scores the rose.
